One UI 8 watch will bring Samsung Health Antioxidant Index feature

For Samsung Health app users, here’s a key piece of information: to measure your beta carotene levels via the Antioxidant Index feature, you will require a Galaxy Watch.
The company has already confirmed an Antioxidant Index feature for the Samsung Health app, which is used to assess the total antioxidant capacity of a diet or food source. It quantifies the intake of several antioxidant nutrients & minerals, including vitamins A, C, & E, and selenium & zinc, respectively, and reports them as a single score.
Previously, it was reported that the Antioxidant Index feature would measure beta carotene levels through skin. Now, a new report from Android Authority revealed that the measurement will be done through a Galaxy Watch, potentially the latest Galaxy Watch 8.

However, the company hasn’t revealed the exact details regarding the feature yet, but the report reveals that it will be available in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, a user on X, IposDev, shared APKs allegedly from the upcoming One UI 8 Watch update.
The spotted strings hint that measurements for the Antioxidant Index feature will be controlled by Galaxy Watch. Noticeably, the measurement will be done non-intrusively through the skin, by pressing the thumb on the back of the watch. The strings also revealed that the feature will be compatible with mentioning your daily average, and whether your readings are “adequate” or “low.”Currently, it’s not confirmed whether the feature will be compatible with all Galaxy phones and watches or any specific devices.
