Samsung could use MediaTek’s chip to power the Galaxy S25 FE

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next Fan Edition variant, called Galaxy S25 FE, and could use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset to power it.

The Korean tech giant is all set to debut the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, built on a 3nm process. A few days back, it was revealed that Samsung is still working on one more model to debut under the same series called Galaxy S25 FE.

Previously, it was expected that this time the company could replace the Galaxy S25 FE with the Galaxy S25 Edge; however, that is not the case anymore, since it is planning to launch both models.

A new exclusive report from Notebookcheck revealed that Samsung might use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset to power the forthcoming Galaxy S25 FE. However, the Exynos 2400e remains its first choice, the MediaTek SoC could be used if Samsung Foundry is unable to make enough Exynos chips in time.

Samsung will debut the Galaxy S25 FE as the successor to the Galaxy S24 FE, powered with in-house Exynos 2400e, so it remains to be seen whether it will use the same chipset for the latest device.

Currently, there’s no official word regarding Mediatek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset to power the Galaxy S25 FE, so it’s difficult to trust blindly in this report at least for now.
