Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro grab March 2025 security patch in the US

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are getting a new software update in the US that will enhance the entire user experience further.

The new update for the 5th generation Galaxy watches is spotted in the US on the Verizon network, and is identified with their respective build numbers, where the Galaxy Watch 5 carries build number, R905USQU1CYCD (40mm)/R915USQU1CYCD (44mm), while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro comes with the version number, R925USQU1CYCD (45mm).

Meanwhile, the update significantly integrates the March 2025 security patch that eventually brings several key improvements to the watch’s overall performance and applies the latest Android security patches that focuses on strengthening the device’s overall security and core functionality in order to offer a more secure user experience.

At the same time, the update apparently helps to optimize the device’s overall performance, resolves certain known issues, and boosts the functionality of the existing features for a smooth, efficient and optimized system behavior.

Well, Samsung brought the Galaxy Watch 5 series back in 2022, and are currently eligible to receive Wear OS-based One UI Watch updates for four consecutive years.

Also, Samsung seems to have already begun the development criteria of One UI 8 Watch that is rumoured to arrive with Galaxy Watch 8 series; however, it’s not yet clear whether the Watch 5 lineup is eligible for receiving the upcoming One UI 8 Watch build or not.
