Samsung Testing Android’s 16KB Memory Page Size on Galaxy A56

During the I/O event held in May, Google gave a short hint of adding the support for bigger memory page sizes for Android apps, and interestingly, Samsung is already working on the same, beginning with the Galaxy A56 units via the Remote Test Lab.

Basically, right after the announcement in May, Google clarified that beginning on 1st November, 2025, all the latest apps or updates of the existing apps that support Android 15 or a higher version will now support 16KB memory page sizes.

More specifically, for years, Android’s memory page size was only limited to 4KB in order to optimize and manage system memory performance. Now, starting with Android 15, Google is taking the most significant leap ever, where the devices will be supporting memory page sizes of 16KB for more memory efficiency.

At the same time, a report presented by SammyGuru stated that Samsung appears to be already on the way to integrating this new memory capability in its top-notch mid-tier A series model, the Galaxy A56, hinting that Samsung will be further looking towards adding the 16KB memory support to more 2025 or future Galaxy devices.

Why specifically the Galaxy A56? Since the Galaxy A56 is currently available for developers for testing purposes via the Remote Test Lab, it’s showing the device running with 16KB memory page size support, and the model eventually stands still as it’s officially arrived with the Android 15 version.

Well, it’s important to note that such changes are often performed behind closed doors and are not noticeable as well. These are significantly meant to improve and enhance the overall Android experience to provide smooth and efficient functionality or performance to the users.
