Samsung’s Knox Platform Expansion Brings Advanced Security Features to More Devices

Samsung is aggressively working on expanding the security layer on its Galaxy devices by offering new security features to retain users and compete with the iPhone’s walled garden approach.

Under the hood, the Korean tech giant is enhancing its Galaxy smartphones with more advanced security features to keep users within its ecosystem and compete with Apple’s closed platform strategy.

The company is upgrading its Knox security platform to make it compatible with more devices, offering features such as Passkeys, Knox Vault, and Trust Chian. The reason behind this change simply appears to enhance the convenience and seamlessness of the Samsung ecosystem, making it harder for you to switch to other brands.

On the other side, Apple also prioritised artificial intelligence with its iOS 18, with the new iPhone 16 designed to accommodate Apple Intelligence. Apple’s new AI package promises to keep user data private and not stored or accessible, even to Apple. The security and privacy of device AI may force buying behaviours between the ecosystems, with Apple seeking to differentiate itself from Google’s cloud-based approach.

Recently, Samsung announced that Galaxy users will no longer be able to access the Galaxy Store without a Samsung account. Somewhere, it seems that the Korean brand is adopting a similar approach to Apple by developing a more closed ecosystem to retain users. The company is dedicated to working to compete with Apple by adopting new strategies that have proven successful for the iPhone maker.
