Galaxy S22 series Alongside Galaxy S23 FE join the November 2024 security update in Canada

Samsung is looking forward to covering its Galaxy devices with the November 2024 security update, as the majority of them have already been receiving the security patch in several countries. Meanwhile, the update hit the Galaxy S23 units a couple of days ago; its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 owners alongside Galaxy S23 FE, are now getting the patch in Canada.

The update for the Galaxy S22 series, including the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra, has been released with the S901WVLS7EXK2, S906WVLS7EXK2, and S908WVLS7EXK2 firmware versions. On the opposite side, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE units are also getting the same update that can be identified with the S711WVLS6CXK4 version number.

Although the Android security bulletin for the November month significantly brings the Auto Blocker feature, which, when enabled with the Maximum Restrictions, Galaxy phones will not be permitted to get connected with the USB devices and can only be used for charging purposes. However, this feature is only available for the Galaxy S22 units and not for the Galaxy S23 FE models.

Alternatively, the update further brings several improvements to the overall system security while also protecting the devices against external threats and harms in order to offer a secure experience to the users. It adds stability and reliability to the system behavior, delivers much improved features and applies the latest security patches, and brings certain performance optimizations for a smooth, stable, and optimized user experience.

Moreover, the aforementioned update for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 FE owners is currently limited to the Canadian market and will be expanded to more regions in the future.
