Samsung could soon start working on Android 16, once it is done with Android 15, to offer more advanced features than the current version, including an enhanced lock screen feature for more security.

Google already released its Android 16 developer preview, which includes a bundle of hidden new features. Although Google has not openly revealed detailed information about features or made it public, deep research on the new OS revealed a new feature for the lock screen.

Google is building a new feature for the lock screen that adds an extra layer of security, which Samsung could adopt with its future One UI 8 based on Android 16. This feature will automatically prevent very sensitive data from being revealed on the lock screen, despite when the user permits all notifications to be displayed.

The Android System Intelligence can decide when content is quite sensitive and should not be revealed on the lock screen anyhow. For instance, multi-factor authentication, which the user receives through SMS.

Noticeably, the decision-making process will be automated, which puts a limit on user control over the visibility of such information. However, it’s early to discuss whether Samsung could adopt this feature with its future One UI 8 since it has yet to release Android 15. It’s expected that this week the company could start the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta program.
