Samsung’s First Double-Foldable Could Be Named “Galaxy G Fold”

Samsung has already presented its smart vision regarding the next-gen foldables that will arrive this year, while a recent blog post reveals the name of Samsung’s first-ever triple-screen foldable alongside presenting other key details.

For years, Samsung has been the leader in the foldable smartphone industry, but perhaps being at the top, the company has started getting tough competition from other Chinese makers, especially Huawei, which has already made it to the foldable market with its first triple-fold smartphone.

Samsung’s first double-fold could be named the Galaxy G Fold

Thus, in order to play it safe and maintain the top spot, Samsung’s triple fold (say its double foldable) is already under development. A recent blog post alongside the reports by display analyst Ross Young claimed that Samsung’s first double foldable unit will be named the Galaxy G Fold, following the naming scheme of the Z Fold lineup.

It will feature a unique form factor with a huge 10-inch display

At the same time, the patent hit last year already covered that Samsung’s latest double-fold (tri-fold) will consist of a unique form factor within the design; meanwhile, now Ross Young too states that the folding method that’s incorporated will allow the tri-fold to be both fold-in and fold-out (inward folding) in nature, which seems to enhance durability, though, which is different from the existing folding patterns used in triple foldables.

Alternatively, the post also referred to the display size of the upcoming foldable. It claims that Samsung’s newest Galaxy G Fold will feature a display of 9.96 inches, almost close to 10 inches, along with a height of 6.54 inches. Also, the display and the film will be newly developed. The weight will be more or less similar to the “H,” where the word H here maybe refers to Huawei’s tri-fold: Mate XT

Well, some sources reveal that Samsung is going to launch its first and latest double-fold (tri-fold) Galaxy G Fold either this year or, more likely, in early January next year.
