Samsung Electronics is looking forward to producing 200,000 tri-foldable phones and will start mass production in the second quarter.
Samsung has set its production plan for its first-ever ‘Tri-Fold’ phone to be released for the first time this year, at around 200,000 units. According to the report from TheElec, Samsung is actively working on expanding its ways in the tri-foldable market by introducing a tri-foldable phone with a dual hinge design, offering two foldable display panels.
Reportedly, Samsung’s coming tri-fold is expected to measure under 10 inches when fully unfolded. It’s anticipated that the company could start production of tri-fold components in the second quarter so that it could debut the device by the end of this year.
Apart from the tri-fold, Samsung already has a few foldable phones in the line to debut this year, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip FE. However, it’s reported that the final design for the Tri-Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 7 is yet to be completed.
The Galaxy tri-fold is said to have an inward-folding design with better durability. If the report is believed, Samsung is planning to produce 7 million foldable units, which are distributed in four foldable devices, which are as follows:
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 – 3 million units
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 – 2 million units
- Galaxy Z Flip FE – 900,000 units
- Galaxy Tri-Fold – 200,000 units
However, the exact timeline to debut these smartphones has not yet been unveiled, but it’s expected that the company will debut them by the end of this year.
