Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Owners Facing Issue With Google Messages After Update

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 users who receive a new update may encounter a bug or issue with Google Messages. The users are struggling with unconventional trouble with Google Messages, due to which text within the input box keeps bouncing uncontrollably while typing, particularly when the phone is unfolded.

This appears to be a frustrating problem that hangs even after common troubleshooting techniques, such as clearing the cache, reinstalling the application, or forcing it to stop. Noticeably, this issue does not occur when users close their foldable phones.

Other foldable owners, such as Google Pixel Fold, do not see any issue or bug that appears on Samsung Galaxy Foldables. The glitch is expected to extend beyond the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, reports from the users of both smartphones are more frequent, and few of them reported on Reddit.

This trouble with text bouncing while typing in the input box is relatively recent on affected Galaxy Z Fold devices, surfacing apparently after an update to the Google Messages application. Some users report the bouncing becomes even more severe when alternating between voice-to-text and standard keyboard input. Fortunately, this issue appears limited to Google Messages because other applications and the keyboard function normally.

Reports of this glitch have appeared on the Google Messages review page within the Play Store, and there has been controversy on Reddit and Google’s community forum. However, neither brand isneed to be made aware of the problem. Until then, affected Samsung Galaxy Fold users will have to sustain this unusual typing quirk to another keyboard, such as a stock Samsung keyboard.
