The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is the first flagship series to get recently launched Galaxy AI features along with the latest Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update after the brand introduced the Galaxy S24 flagship series.
The Galaxy S23 debuted in 2023 and runs Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box, and now it is upgraded to Android 14-based One UI 6.1. The major part of this update is the Galaxy AI features, which enhance the user’s experience and add an extra layer of upgrade, just like the latest Galaxy S24 smartphone, even though it is an older device.

- Call Assist
This enhances the user’s calling experience as it provides real-time translation during calls. This helps in the scenario, especially where you are unable to understand the language of the person you are talking with. With this feature, the other person on the call can hear what you say in their language, and you can hear their responses in your language. Also, the translations will appear on the screen.
- Interpreter –
This helps by translating a conversation any time you need to talk to someone who speaks another language. It offers the real-time translation of spoken conversations, available as voice or text output. With the help of this, both people can hear translations read out loud in addition to reading them on the screen.
- Chat Assist
This helps to change the tone of your writing with the help of generative intelligence and also offers spelling and grammar suggestions. It also translates messages in select chat and text messaging applications. This will enhance the chat experience without making mistakes.
- Note Assist
This feature improves the Samsung Note facilities as it has the power to automatically format, summarize correctly, translate, and generate covers for notes. Converse can also be generated based on note content.
- Summaries –
This summaries feature is for translating webpages and specifically arrived for the Samsung Internet, but it offers you a summary of any webpage you ask for. This will prevent long reading; instead, it offers the most important bullet points of the webpage. It also allows you to translate webpages into your preferred language.
- Transcript Assist
Generative intelligence-based The Transcript Assist feature helps by converting recordings of meetings, lectures, voice memos, and more into text. It transforms recordings into text transcripts and summaries that you can review and translate.
- Photo Editor:
It enhances the photo editing experience by offering some advanced AI editing tools. It offers long exposure, coloring, and more. Suggestions appear when you tap the i button in Gallery.
- Generate unique wallpapers.
With the help of AI, you can generate unique wallpapers for our home screen and lock screen. To generate the wallpaper, all you have to do is choose a few keywords and let AI take care of the rest.
- Circle to Search:
Circle to search with Google allows you to search anything from the display by just circling the image of text you want to search for without even switching between apps. This enhances the search experience.
These are the major Galaxy AI features that debuted with One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S24, and now all are available on Galaxy S23 smartphones. Also, all these features are available on the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone except the Instant Slow-mo feature. Samsung has already rolled out all these features with the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones.
