Among the new features, in fact, there will be a redesign of the design, with the display of notifications slightly revisited as well as the addition of a dedicated UUWB (Ultra-Wideband) button in the ‘Connections’ section. In addition, the Korean company has planned the implementation of a rather interesting feature, namely OCR (Optical Character Recognition). It is a tool that can extrapolate and copy the text contained in an image.
Several changes, then, should affect privacy and security. In particular, all features related to these two aspects would be grouped into a single section, including lock screen options, user accounts, “Find My Cell Phone,” app security, Google Play system updates, and privacy features. Finally, there will be no shortage of new gestures dedicated to multitasking. For example, by swiping two fingers from the bottom up you will be able to activate the multiscreen while scrolling from the top right corner, a pop-up window will be activated.
As for the timing of the release of the final version, it would appear that Samsung is aiming to release One UI 5.0 by October. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.
