Samsung users, it’s time to upgrade your experience since the new One UI 6.1.1 Good Lock update brings the long-awaited vertical scrolling app drawer.

The controversy regarding the lack of a vertical app drawer every time it rises heats up when Samsung introduces its new One UI. Now, finally, the wait is over. The upcoming One UI 6.1.1 Good Lock update lets you scroll vertically. However, once Good Lock users could switch to a vertical scrolling drawer, unfortunately, the Korean giants took that facility away.

This is being speculated by a Samsung Community moderator, and he confirms it is coming back. A post on X was shared by theonecid stating that the Home Up component of Good Lock will offer an option for vertical app drawer scrolling by the end of this year.

The other post by the Good Lock support team points out that they are gearing up for this option for Home Up and also preparing to provide a vertical scrolling drawer in One UI 6.1.1. Although the schedule is not set in stone and is subject to change in certain circumstances,.

Somewhere how One UI 6.1.1 is the expected sequel to the recent One UI 6.1 update. The brand debuted on the Galaxy S24 series. The Korean giant has not officially confirmed exactly when the upcoming One UI 6.1.1 will be released, but most probably the update will debut with the next generation of foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The reports are saying that the next Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event will be in the second week of July. The location is not confirmed yet, but the reports from Korea point towards Paris. As per the metrics we had seen previously, it is expected that this time also the giants will not release it for enough devices before One UI 7.0 touches the beta stages, maybe by the end of this year.

Samsung offers a wide range of useful features that enable users to efficiently utilize the device’s performance. To maintain user engagement, the company consistently strives to enhance the user experience through new updates. However, occasionally, these updates may introduce issues that could potentially disrupt certain functionalities. For instance, a user has recently reported an animation glitch that causes widgets to flash on the lock screen.

A user has reported that he is experiencing an animation glitch when tapping on the lock screen of the Galaxy Tab S9. He is dealing with a glitching animation. Furthermore, he asserted that he has been encountering this problem since One UI 5.0, and despite his assistance, the responsible parties have advised him to wait for One UI 6.0. However, the issue remains unfixed. However, the moderator assured him that they would fix the issue soon after he posted the complaint.

According to the official moderator response, the lock screen animation glitch will get fixed in One UI 6.1.1. However, he doesn’t give any hints about the update’s availability. Based on the update’s past timeline, we expect the company to introduce the update in the upcoming month of July.

One UI 6.1.1 Will Expand Galaxy AI Functionality; As It Could Bring Video AI Innovation

Samsung is preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable phones at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10. We expect these devices to run Samsung’s next exclusive Android interface, One UI 6.1.1, which could focus on video AI innovation.

Samsung has already transparently introduced the Galaxy AI, a power package of generative AI features that has gained much attention and success. The reports reveal that Samsung is gearing up to introduce a new Android interface, One UI 6.1.1, which should bring new AI features.

A colleague tipster, @UniverseIce, is reporting that Samsung, through the One UI 6.1.1 update, will introduce video AI. The Galaxy AI package brings a bundle of generative AI features such as Circle to Search, Generative Edit, Browsing Assis, Call Assist, and many more, but it correctly lacks video-specific functionalities. However, it appears now that the brand is actively working to address the gap.

Currently, the exact implementation of these latest video AI features remains unclear. The existing Galaxy AI offers an AI component for the Instant Slow-mo feature, which permits Galaxy device users to playback videos at a slower framerate through the Gallery application.

A more ambitious approach to implementing video AI on Galaxy devices through One UI 6.1.1 would be something similar to OpenAI Sora. The latter is an AI model developed by OpenAI that is capable of generating videos according to the preferences of user prompts. It’s similar to generative photos, except it’s focused on video creation.

If the rumor is correct and One UI 6.1.1 will bring a video AI feature, it will be interesting to see what route Samsung will take and how it will work.
