The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been unveiled as the fifth generation of the foldable lineup, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, at the Galaxy event. A significant feature related to the flip variant has been made available to the gadget. The new cover screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can now support every Android widget credited to the Coverscreen OS. After spending several days in the Samsung shop along with the Flip 5, the Coverscreen OS software’s creator announced through Twitter that they had provided the app for the smartphone.

On the cover screen of flip models like the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Flip 4, and OPPO Find N2, the Coverscreen OS replicates an alternative operating system. This software enables every program to operate on the cover display and increases the functionality of the outer display for flip-foldable phones. By just swiping on the Cover screen, you can access several functions, including Quick Settings, Notifications, Widget Management, Samsung Pay, and many more, without the need to open your phone.

Samsung LockStar is updated with several new features – Good Lock

On the other hand, practically any app you have loaded will work on the cover screen, including Samsung’s GoodLock software package. With the GoodLuck app, you can fully customize your Galaxy phone, so this third-party app is unnecessary. This will be helpful if some widgets and apps adamantly refuse to function on the secondary screen of the Z Flip 5. The video shared on Twitter shows running instances of applications like Gmail, Netflix, and Google TV, as well as how to swipe between them.

Available in the Google Play Store, it can be installed for free and is limited to certain functions. To access its full benefits, it costs around $1.99 per month or $14.99 annually. After Flip 5’s arrival on August 11, it can be tested out. As it is mentioned, we should wait some time, as the update is still quite unstable before it is available to everyone.
