Samsung’s First Mid-Range Foldable Could Poised to Disrupt the Smartphone Market

For a number of years now, the latest generation of foldable phones has been accessible. And although they have disadvantages, such as usually being more expensive than their non-folding brothers, their ingenious bending screens provide an entertaining experience that standard smartphones just can’t match. Samsung is the industry leader, and its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 provide a variety of folding shapes to entice you to part with your money. But there are other businesses in the mix than Samsung.
The Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, which are the existing foldable phones of South Korean Tech, come in a price range of $1,000 to $1,800. The well-known tipster Revegnus stated on X that Samsung’s next foldable model may be released for between $400 and $500. This is one potential price range in which the device might be placed in the coming hours. While foldables are undoubtedly the newest trend in smartphones, they haven’t really taken off in the US market compared to other flagship models.
In South Korea, foldables accounted for 40% of premium phone sales last year, and that percentage is only predicted to rise this year. The technological specifications of this smartphone are yet unknown, as is the possibility that it may come in a clamshell or book-style form factor. However, there’s no confirmation that these are true, and if it turns out to be a rumor, then it will be surprising how Samsung fits its specs and features within its low budget.
The information is consistent with a previous leak that stated Samsung intended to introduce Fan Edition models of the foldable phones as early as next year. After the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 launch early next year, Samsung is rumored to release the Galaxy Z FE variant. It is anticipated that other Android phone makers will take similar action, propelling the market for foldable phones to grow more quickly.
