Samsung Should Address Its Own Software Issues, Not Blame Apple
Apple is the current hot topic for its monopoly, and now the US government has charged Apple with impairing competition by making its smartphones stand with uniquity and seem better as compared to rivals such as Samsung and Google.
Samsung is a tough competitor to Apple, and now instead of playing fairly and focusing on actual improvements as well as upgrades, the US government accuses Apple of injuring the fair competition by making its iPhone look better. Apart from all these messes, the reports are saying that Samsung has trouble with software quality and cannot use the tactics of Apple as an excuse.
Apple introduced its existence back in 2007, and most of the smartphone brands, such as Blackberry and Nokia, undervalued its blow. However, the Korean brand ‘Samsung’ was smart enough to acknowledge the iPhone as a rival or threat and adapt its strategy accordingly. However, after recognizing this, Samsung didn’t get that the iPhone’s real advancement was making those features extremely easy to use with intuitive software.
Samsung stands alone and was the first major smartphone brand to respond to Apple’s threat, but unfortunately, its primary attempts were not successful. Samsung started its game with the strategy of the Samsung Instinct, which was a feature phone that slightly resembled the iPhone. Unfortunately, it lacked functionality and user experience. Also, its initial Android phones—for instance, Behold—continued to have issues with the awkward TouchWiz interface, which was not user-friendly at all and unpleasant to use.
But Samsung is back in the game with a bang with the arrival of Samsung Galaxy smartphones. They presented the first win for Samsung, but this win only focused the brand more firmly in the opposite direction. What made the original Galaxy Phone great, especially compared to the iPhone, was the OLED display; however, Apple refused to adopt an OLED panel for its iPhone until the iPhone X. Although Samsung would follow a similar pattern over the next 15 years, It probably intends to beat Apple in terms of specs and hardware features.
