Samsung Galaxy Watches to Introduce Family Health Monitoring

Published

on

Samsung is actively setting up to expand its Samsung Health app services by introducing new convenient facilities. This giant is working on bringing a new feature called family health data sharing to the Samsung Health app.

Samsung is just nine days away from debuting the next-gen Galaxy Watch 7, which is expected to bring a new advanced facility that makes it a better tracker for your family.

A new report from the Android Authority says that a code has been spotted within the latest Samsung Health app that indicates that Samsung is working on family health data sharing with Galaxy Watches.

Samsung Health will soon let you monitor the data that your family member’s Galaxy Watch will receive. However, for security purposes, there is an approval process in the palace that allows for your Samsung account as a parent account to process the health data for your family member, for instance, your child’s Samsung account.

Since the data will be populated through the Galaxy Watch, it is quite obvious that your child will need to have their own Galaxy Watch and wear it enough to keep all key stats populated over time.

There are some security and privacy checks built into the family data-sharing feature. All members of the family will be able to stop sharing or change what and how much they share at any time, and they will also be able to preview what you want to share in advance.

Noticeably, accessing a child’s health details will require guardian consent. Shared data will automatically be deleted, and sharing will be rescinded in case there is an extended period of inactivity.

The Korean giant could bring the feature to its older smartwatches too, but it makes financial sense for the company to keep it exclusive to newer smartwatch models for a limited time initially before opening the feature up to older models.

Galaxy Watch 7 May Feature Blood Glucose Monitoring, Hints Samsung Health

Published

Samsung is aggressively working to expand the functionality and compatibility of its wearable smartwatches by offering new features. Now it has been spotted gearing up to introduce an AGEs index feature that could help gauge users’ biological aging process.

Samsung is all set to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in 2024 on July 10 in Paris. At the event, it will debut theGalaxy Watch 7 series, which will bring dozens of new health monitoring features and a few AI-powered tools to enhance the health monitoring experience. The new GalaxyWatch 7 might come with blood sugar monitoring, but it’s not confirmed yet.

The interesting part is that Samsung is adding new features to older watches if possible. The giant might use an AGEs index to track the risk of heart disease and diabetes in place of directly monitoring blood sugar. As per the report from the Android Authority, Samsung Health will soon offer a way to track your AGEs over time by creating an index of readings.

Galaxy Watch Blood Glucose Monitoring

This AGEs index will offer a sense of personal metabolic health. The AGEs are claimed to predict the risk of diabetes, heart attack, and stroke. Samsung’s supposed partner for the AGEs index states that AGEs play a “pivotal role in the development of chronic age-related diseases such as diabetes, renal failure, and cardiovascular disease.” Whereas diagnostics also claims that a few AGEs have a characteristic fluorescence, making it possible to measure this non-invasively.

The forthcoming Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to use a new way to track the risk of diseases such as diabetes. This method would involve measuring AGEs without even requiring needles. The watch would then use these statistics to count an AGEs index. A well-reliable tipster showcases a timeline of nearly five years for noninvasive glucose monitoring to arrive on the market in “some form.”

However, it has yet to be clear whether the latest AGEs feature will be compatible with older Galaxy Watches. Samsung has discussed glucose monitoring alongside metabolic health before, so there may be some dots to connect here. It will be interesting to see exactly how this new functionality will work and which older Galaxy watches will be compatible with this feature.

Galaxy Watch Exynos W100

The Korean brand ‘Samsung’ has finally debuted its first 3-nm chip, the Exynos W1000. The brand has built the chipset using its most advanced fabrication process, which will potentially be used in the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The newly debuted Exynos W1000 is made using Samsung Electronics’s second-generation 3nm, probably the SF3 process, and it features a powerful CPU with five cores: 1x Cortex-A78 and 4x Coretex-A55.

The Korean giant claims that the new CPU offers 2.7 times faster app launch times compared to the Exynos W930 and permits faster app switching. Single-core performance is 3.4x faster, while multi-core performance is 3.7x faster. It uses ARM’s Mali-G68 MP2 GPU and is also compatible with drive screens with resolutions up to 640 x 640 pixels. The chipset also features integrated 32GB of internal storage.

The Korean giant has used many new and advanced technologies to reduce its size and upgrade its performance, as well as efficiency, to enhance seamless performance. It has used fan-out panel-level packaging (FOPLP) technology, especially to enhance power efficiency and heat dissipation.

Samsung has embedded RAM and storage on top of a similar chip using embedded package-on-package (ePOP) technology. System-in-package (SIP) technology is also included, which embeds the power management integrated chip (PMIC) into the same package. The latest Exynos W1000 also features 2.5D Always on Display (AoD) for improved watch faces with higher details, better colors in the AoD mode, Bluetooth LE for audio, and LPDDR5 RAM for even further power savings.

Exynos W1000 Specs

The connectivity features are as follows: 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and NFC. It was already reported that the newly launched Exynos W1000 will be used in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
