Galaxy Note 20 receives July 2024 security patch in the US

Samsung is back on track, frequently bringing new July 2024 security patch updates to eligible devices. The company already has life for multiple smartphones, including Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy A55 and many more; after introducing the update to the latest device, the company has turned its focus to the older devices, and the Galaxy Note 20 started getting new updates.

Galaxy Note 20 is locked and unlocked, getting a July 2024 update

Samsung has released the July 2024 security patch for both locked and unlocked units of the Galaxy Note 20 series in the US. Users who own the locked units of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra update can identify the latest update by the firmware version number N981USQS8HXFC and N986USQS8HXFC, respectively. 

The update is being spotted on multiple carriers, including T-Mobile, USCellular, and Sprint. The device is expected to get an update on more carriers in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the unlocked variant of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are getting a new July 2024 security patch with the firmware version number N981U1UES8HXFC and N986U1UES8HXFC, respectively.

July 2024 update: what’s new 

Samsung hasn’t mentioned anything new for the July 2024 update, and the latest update is coming with the latest update coming with the general changelog, which only says about the gentle improvement done in the system, which indicates that you will not get any notable changes for the devices.
