Samsung is auditing its Semiconductor chip business performance

Samsung isn’t only dependent on the smartphone business but the company also generates a lot of revenue from the chip business, however, in the last couple of quarters the business hasn’t performed well, so to work on it the company on analysis about the possible mistakes and do improvements on them.

In detail, the chip division which also includes the non memory has been reporting a profit decline for the last few years, it is reported that the company has recorded an operating loss of 4 to 5 trillion won in the semiconductor last year.

However, in the beginning of its semiconductor, the company is continuously gaining in market share in the chip segment and to expand it the company has set the aim in 2019 that it could invest 171 trillion won by 2030 to become the world’s top semiconductor. But due to the problem, the company hasn’t reached the desired goal yet.

According to the report, the company’s market share dropped from 19.1% in Q1 2019 to 8.2% in Q4 2024. Meanwhile, in the camera business, it has lost significant market share which is lower than 20%.

According to the reports, Samsung Electronics is running a management diagnosis of its LSI division. It is worth noticing that this diagnosis will be run by Samsung’s own global research team. With this management diagnosis, the company aims to find the key problems and prepare to take action on it.
