Samsung has already started rolling out the stable One UI 7 update for its older Galaxy devices, which brings a new convenient feature called live notifications for YouTube videos playing on other devices, such as smart TVs.
The Korean tech giant has recently rolled out the stable One UI 7 to the Galaxy Z Fold SE. Reportedly, after receiving the update, the foldable started showing live notifications for YouTube videos playing on other devices, such as smart TVs.

The newly introduced feature worked regardless of the distance between the TV and the phone. Now, despite the video being streamed on a TV back home, the foldable continued to show the YouTube player interface and live progress bar. It also offers playback controls without even being the active playback device.
Noticeably, the latest flagship Galaxy S25 series and the rest of the devices running in the One UI 7 beta phase lack this integration. Currently, the Live notifications are compatible with other applications except YouTube. Now, with the stable One UI 7 update, the company has added support for YouTube but also enabled cross-device sync for a seamless experience.
This new integration will enhance Samsung’s ecosystem by upgrading continuity between phone, tablet, and smart TV experiences. However, there’s a limitation: while the live notification is active on your device, YouTube’s Picture-in-Picture (PiP) no longer works. This means that in case you are watching a video and minimize the app, the PiP window will no longer appear since the system will prioritize the new live notification interface instead
