Samsung to innovate Bixby via sensing natural reactions with Bespoke AI Vision

Samsung is looking forward to expanding the advancement and functionality of its dedicated voice assistant, Bixby, with Bespoke AI Vision.

The Korean tech giant is gearing up to develop a smart appliance ecosystem centered around its Bespoke AI portfolio, which aims to make AI relevant beyond smartphones, featuring appliances such as refrigerators that act as Wi-Fi hubs and air conditioners that coordinate with fans.

There are three critical elements of a Bespoke AI portfolio, which are as follows –

  • Bixby AI assistant that uses large language models (LLMs)
  • A SmartThings app is key to monitoring and managing devices
  • The Tizen operating system integrates the Knox Matrix and Knox Vault security layer

Moonkeun Lee, Vice President and Head of AI Solution Lab at Samsung, states(Via), “Controlling the device not only by the voice, but also if I am saying that I am feeling hot to the Bespoke AI WindFree AC, then automatically it reacts. That kind of device control is being applied through Bixby.” Currently, the Bespoke A Windfree Combo Gallery AC sold in Korea is compatible with this natural reaction, but it’s expected that Samsung will expand local support soon.

The company is gearing its AI strategy for the miserly Indian market by introducing a “Tizen Lite” operating system for its affordable, screenless appliances. It will permit these devices to support AI features such as Bixby.

Samsung is planning to introduce five exclusive features for the Indian market for its smart appliances, such as Home Care Plus, which permits users to easily report appliance errors to service centres directly via the SmartThings app. It is also stated that  “We have Bixby in English. At this time, Bixby in Hindi is under development. There is a ‘Hinglish’ Bixby (this is a mix of English and Hindi words, how we often structure sentences in conversation) which we have released recently.”
