Earlier this week, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge with the thinnest body, excellent specifications, and innovative AI features.
Samsung Newsroom interviewed Jiyoung Lee and Hyoungshin Park, VPs from the Mobile eXperience Design Team at Samsung, to learn the details and hot news on the design story and innovations of the latest Galaxy S25 Edge.
Lee informed, the key factor of Galaxy S25 Edge being the thinnest phone is that it does not include any unnecessary elements and represents the most essential form of a smartphone.
Samsung goes with a balanced approach to color, material, and finish (CMF) that helps it to make the Galaxy S25 Edge the slimmest phone ever in the Galaxy family. For instance, it uses premium titanium for the side frame, a unified “one-mass” design that blends the frame and back cover, along with a thinner bezel, creates a smooth and integrated appearance, highlighting the phone’s sleekness.
Park, who led the CMF design, said, “The Galaxy S25 Edge offers a natural one-hand grip that reduces wrist strain during extended use, and the thin bezel allows for a more immersive viewing experience.” She also added that the front side of the device is flat while the back has a subtle curve, which gives a comfy feel in the hand.
Lee said the company couldn’t compromise on either the sleek design or the high-end 200MP camera; “To ensure the high-performance camera blended seamlessly into the thinner body, we applied the same CMF from the back glass to the camera bump — making it look like a unified structure. We used the linear camera layout, an integral element of the Galaxy identity, to tie it all together.”
