One UI 8 Watch to bring a new charging animation for Galaxy Watches

Samsung just released the One UI 8 beta update to the Galaxy S25 series, and is still working on One UI 8 Watch, which is anticipated to bring new charging animation for Galaxy Watches.

Currently, the Galaxy Watches are running on One UI 6 Watch as the latest update. Ritually, Samsung had to release the One UI 6.5 Watch as the next major update, but it’s not the case anymore since the company is setting up to take a long jump and decide to skip two major software versions, including One UI 6.5 Watch and One UI 7 Watch.

The Korean tech giant is working on its next major OS update: One UI 8 Watch, for its smartwatches, which will bring dozens of new novelties, including a new charging animation. One of our reliable colleagues, Android Authority, reported that it has conducted a teardown of Samsung’s Diagnostics application with the version number 1.0.08.14, which is already upgraded to One UI 8 Watch.

The teardown revealed the new charging animation that Samsung introduced with the One UI 7 on Galaxy smartphones. Currently, the charging indication and status appear with a green circle around the display. Now, the One UI 8 Watch will display a pill-shaped beaker with a charging indicator and battery percentage.

Samsung is reported to introduce the One UI 8 Watch with the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the Unpacked event in July.
