After a two-month delay, Samsung rolls out One UI 7 stable update in Japan

Finally, Samsung extended the Android 15-based One UI 7  for the Galaxy S24 series to Japan, months after the other markets.

Samsung introduced the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 with the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year in January. A few months later, in April, the company began expanding the update to older Galaxy devices, starting with the most recent flagship devices, such as the Galaxy S24 series.

To date, the company has gradually rolled out the One UI 7 to almost all eligible Galaxy devices globally. But Japan was the only market where the Galaxy users waited so long for the latest update, and finally, Samsung has officially released the update.

Reportedly, Japanese Galaxy S24 users received the One UI 7 update with the build version ending in BYE3, almost two months after the initial global rollout. The update also includes the May 2025 security patch.

Samsung packed the update with dozens of new features, overall UI refinements, new app icons, and a more personalized user experience. It’s expected that other Japanese Galaxy devices will also get the One UI 7 update in the coming days. However, the company hasn’t revealed the exact reason behind this delay.
On the other side, the company is aggressively looking forward to the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 release, and it has already opened the beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in selected regions. It has already confirmed to introduce the stable One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 next month.
