Samsung decided to cut 260,000 units from upcoming foldable phones production volume

Samsung is just around the corner from debuting the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, and now, just before a month of launch, it plans to cut foldable phone production volume, as the report says.
The Korean tech giant is supposed to debut three foldable phones at the Unpacked event in July: the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip FE. The company is just a month away from holding the launch event, and ahead of that, it is reported to cut down the production volume of its upcoming foldable phones.
A new report from one of our reliable colleagues, TheElec, revealed that Samsung recently told its partners that it will make only 1.34 million foldable phones this month, out of which 550,000 units are the Galaxy Z Flip 7, 630,000 units are the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and 160,000 units are the Z Flip FE.
Noticeably, a few weeks ago, Samsung was planning to produce 1.6 million foldable phones in June. This means that the company has cut 260,000 units from the total production, which hints at a drop in Samsung’s confidence in early demand.
Potentially, US tariffs could be the reason behind this decision, as they could force Samsung to increase the price of its upcoming foldable phones by up to 40%. Since the official statement regarding this report is yet to be released, the exact reason behind this cut remains to be seen.
