Samsung started OLED panels mass production for iPad Pro (2025) models

Samsung started manufacturing OLED panels for Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro models, which are expected to launch in the second half of this year.
The Korean firm ‘Samsung’ and California’s Silicon Valley firm ‘Apple’ are the strongest competitors of each other, and never miss any chance to mock one another. However, in a few scenes, both firms are business partners: for instance, Samsung is providing OLED panels to Apple for its iPad Pro series.
Last year, Apple launched its first iPad Pro series, which features OLED panels, and now the company is looking forward to debuting its next-generation iPad Pro models by the end of this year, for which it will use Samsung’s OLED display.
A new report from ZDNet Korea (via) revealed that Apple has decided to go with Samsung Display and LG Display for the supply of OLED panels for the iPad Pro (2025). Reportedly, Samsung has already started mass production of those OLED panels.
According to the report, Apple has made a few notable changes to the contracts as compared to last year’s, and the aim behind the change is to upgrade the supply chain diversification. Last year, Samsung was ordered to make OLED panels for the 11-inch iPad Pro (2024) model, whereas LG was tasked to produce panels for the 13-inch model. This year, both the brands LG and Samsung have been ordered to make OLED panels for the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (2025) models.
