Galaxy A55 spotted running One UI 8 on Geekbench

Samsung is now expanding its One UI 8 development to more Galaxy devices, this time for the mid-range Galaxy A55 smartphone.

Currently, the Android 16-based One UI 8 is running in the beta phase, and the Galaxy S25 series has already received two beta updates. In a few recent days, several Galaxy smartphones have already been spotted running One UI 8 online, which hints at the active development.

Now, a user, Alfaturk, on X, shared a post revealing that Samsung started developing the One UI 8 for its mid-range Galaxy A55 smartphone, as it has been spotted on Geekbench.

According to the report, the Galaxy A55 5G appeared on Geekbench with the dedicated model number SM-A556E, running One UI 8 internal build, revealing the CPU performance score. The listing revealed, the single-core of the device scored 1150, whereas the multi-core scored 3417. However, these scores are midst of the developing phase, so performance may improve slightly with the stable version.

The company has already confirmed that it will introduce the stable Android 16-based One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 on July 9 at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
Meanwhile, Samsung has already started testing the One UI 8 version of several devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy Tab S10 series.
