Samsung Galaxy A56 Skips US Launch, Still Sees Strong Global Sales

Samsung introduced a mid-range Galaxy A56 smartphone worldwide, except for one of its major markets, the US, despite that it’s setting an appreciable mark with its sales rate.
A few months back, in March 2025, Samsung launched three mid-range smartphones under the Galaxy A series, including the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A26. At first, it debuted these phones in selected markets, such as India and the UK; however, a few weeks later, it expanded the availability worldwide, except for the USA.
The company has already confirmed that Galaxy A56 will retail in the US for nearly $499 and be available ‘later this year,’ but hasn’t mentioned the exact timeline. A few days back, the Galaxy A56’s new model number was spotted, which hints at its availability in the US market soon.
Meanwhile, a new report from Counterpoint Research reports that Galaxy A56 sales in Western Europe set a new benchmark with over 12% of sales as compared to its predecessor, Galaxy A55, in the first seven weeks of availability. Reportedly, the Galaxy A55’s initial sales faced a massive decline of 22% compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A54.
One of the major reasons behind the Galaxy A56’s demand could be its Galaxy AI features, which helped it to set a new benchmark. The device is powered by the in-house Exynos 1580 chipset and runs Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. Features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a triple camera setup including 50 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging support.
