Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature the same primary sensor as its predecessor

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is supposed to launch in early January 2025, and the Ultra variant of the lineup is now rumored to have a 200MP sensor same as its predecessor.

The Korean tech giant will launch the next-generation Galaxy S26 series as the successor of the Galaxy S25 series. This time, the lineup is anticipated to include four models, which are as follows –

  • Galaxy S26
  • Galaxy S26+
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra
  • Galaxy S26 Edge

However, a few reports also suggest that Samsung could replace the Galaxy S26+ with the Galaxy S26 Edge, and the reason behind this is the lower sales rate of the plus variant. Meanwhile, a new report from one of our reliable colleagues, Galaxy Club, revealed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature the same 200MP sensor as its predecessor Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This means that Samsung is not looking forward to offering any upgrade for the primary camera sensor. A few days back, it was reported that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could debut all-in-house cameras.

Following the previous report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 3x Telephoto camera could get a big boost to 50MP, and it could also support Virtual Aperture, which will enhance portrait photography. However, Samsung has not revealed any official details regarding the camera specifications of the device, so it remains to be seen whether the leaked reports will come into existence.
