Surprise! Samsung brings Gemini shortcut and Circle search to the Galaxy Wide 8 (Galaxy M16)

Samsung Galaxy M16 users are getting a feature-rich surprise with a new update, which includes several new changes related to Google that have already been introduced to other companion devices, including the Galaxy A16.

Galaxy M16 is getting fresh AI-powered accessibility

The Samsung Galaxy M16 is an entry-level device that comes rebranded as the Galaxy Wide 8 in South Korea. It now features several new Google-related enhancements, carrying the firmware version number M166SKSU2AYF2.

It is the first update for a device based on Android 15, Here the changelog contains several useful changes like new functionality added as a long-press side button to access Google Gemini. Further description, you can change what the side button does in settings.

Secondly, the update has also brought the search with circle functionality which basically brings the facility to search the screen contents directly on the internet.

Apart from these,  the device has also received a new security patch as of May 2025 which has improved the overall security of the devices.

The Korean version Galaxy M16 or Galaxy Wide 8 arrived with Android 15 out of the box while in other regions the same device it was arrived with Android 14 This indicates that the Korean version should get the advantage of extra software updates compared to the other
