Samsung focuses on Galaxy S26 series, the S26+ could receive a big camera upgrade

With the conclusion of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 unveiling, Samsung is now focusing on the making of its next-generation S series flagship, the Galaxy S26 series. So far, the entire fans community has witnessed a handful of leaks and rumors; meanwhile, a new report claims that the Galaxy S26+ is supposed to have some significant camera upgrades.

Samsung has been working on enhancing and improving the camera system of its Galaxy devices for years now and has had various successful attempts as well, especially the Ultra’s 200MP camera sensor.

Now, several rumors are already continuing to entertain fans; another report by WinFuture apparently claims that Samsung has already begun developing its upcoming flagship S series models behind closed doors.

As per the reports, the company has codenamed the next generation models, Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, as ‘Next Paradigm’ with internal codes NPA1NPA2, and NPA3, respectively.

With the Galaxy S26 Ultra already rumored to be housing the 200MP primary camera, the latest report suggests that not just this, but Samsung is planning to bring a massive noticeable shift to the ultrawide camera of the Galaxy S26+ (NPA2), as it’s claimed to feature a 50MP ultrawide camera, which is significantly huge when compared to the previous Galaxy S25+’s ultrawidecamera that was 12MP only.

However, there’s no other information regarding the base model; probably it could resemble the plus variant, anyway.

Is it the Galaxy S26 Edge or simply the Galaxy S26 Plus?

Beyond this, there are reports that Samsung is further planning to be changing its strategy, beginning with the Galaxy S26 series, as the company appears to be working on replacing the Edge model with the Plus one. This, perhaps, suggests that there will be no Galaxy S26+, rather it will be replaced with the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, it remains to be seen whether the reports are to be believed in the future.
