Samsung Hints That Apple’s Foldable iPhone Is on Its Way

Samsung Display is all set to provide foldable OLED panels for its rival Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is anticipated to launch sometime in the second half of 2026.

Samsung and Apple are the strongest competitors of each other and they hardly miss the chance to poke at each other. However, now both brands are looking forward to collaborating on Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone.

Recently, Samsung launched its seventh-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Galaxy Z Flip 7. On the rivalry side, Apple has yet to officially debut in the foldable smartphone market segment. Now, after ages, it seems that Apple is planning to launch its first foldable iPhone next year.

Previously, it was already revealed that the Korean tech giant will provide foldable OLED panels for this special iPhone. Now, a new report from Korean media claims that Samsung Display is expected to start mass producing foldable OLED screens for Apple in the last quarter of 2025. The aim behind the ramp-up of production is to ensure the launch of the foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026.

Noticeably, Apple chose Samsung Display as the key supplier for the new product line, and one of the major reasons behind this decision is that currently, Samsung is the only brand that can produce foldable screen panels on a large scale along with Apple’s topmost quality requirements.

To make things easy and seamless, Samsung Display is also all set to convert its production line in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, into a dedicated facility for Apple, signaling confidence in a long-term partnership between the two firms.
