Galaxy Z Fold7’s Exclusive Features Coming to Older Foldables with One UI 8

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 becomes the first Galaxy Z Series’ foldable model that debuted with the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. Despite being an inferior version of One UI 7, the company is continuously working on implementing more significant changes within the newest One UI 8 software, specifically, the camera section!
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 debuted with various amazing features. At the same time, Samsung has introduced more refined Capture View and Side-By-Side Generative Edit features, which are going to be available in more eligible Galaxy devices over the coming future, says Samsung.
Capture View
Samsung’s Capture View is a camera feature that is exclusively designed for the Galaxy Z Series devices, which significantly allows users to capture their images and review their captured images simultaneously. Although the feature has remained there for quite some time, since the Z Fold 2, with the arrival of the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung has apparently improved the Capture View function.
From now on, Capture View gets a more improved list format, where the users will be able to see selected captured results at the center, while also adding options such as add to favorites, share, and delete at the bottom of the image for more convenience.

At the same time, the Capture View now has a new favorites feature, where users can easily add images or videos to the favorites section from their capture view screen. At the same time, they can even view the images or videos added in the favorites list in the Gallery app at any time by pressing the favorites button placed at the bottom.
Side-by-Side Generative Edits
Next up, the Generative Edits, a photo editing feature of the Galaxy AI suite that can easily move, resize, and erase objects using AI. Initially, Samsung introduced this feature with the Galaxy S24 series, but the feature has been improved with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The feature is now enriched with a new Suggest Erases that offers proactive edit suggestions.
At the same time, the new and improved Side-By-Side Generative Edits allow users to view both their original and edited images side-by-side, providing you the convenience to easily edit and review original images with the edited one and perform changes if needed.

Well, Samsung has not clarified the Galaxy devices that are eligible for the Side-By-Side Generative Edits; however, some general improvements, including Suggest Erases, are confirmed to be expanded to more eligible Galaxy devices with the One UI 8 release, while the Side-By-Side Editing will be exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold series models. On the other hand, as per Samsung, the new and improved Capture View feature is currently available in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and will be expanded to more Z series models, including
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- And Galaxy Z Fold 4
