Samsung’s July 2025 Security Update Hits US Carrier‑Locked Galaxy S24 FE

Verizon recently rolled out the July 2025 security patch to its handful of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 Series. Following this, the Galaxy S24 Fan Edition (FE) has also started to receive the same update from US carriers, including Verizon and US Cellular.

This update only improves the device’s security to the latest July 2025 security patch and does not introduce any visual or functional changes to the Galaxy S24 FE. Users should not expect new features or interface tweaks with this release. And the update can be identify by build number S721USQS6BYG1 for both carriers.

For those who are waiting for improvements or new features, Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8 is already under development and will be reaching Galaxy S24 FE devices in the future. While there is currently no official timeline for the release, it’s expected that Samsung will roll out the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S24 FE after its latest flagship and siblings.

The latest July 2025 security patch is now live for Galaxy S24 FE users on supported US carriers. If you use one of them, you should receive an update notification. It’s recommended to install the update.

If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can check manually by going to Settings > Software Update and tapping Download and Install.
