T‑Mobile Adds Full MMS Support for Galaxy Phones in T‑Satellite Service

Samsung Galaxy smartphone users residing in the US can now send MMS via T-Mobile’s T-Satellite to enhance their communication experience in an emergency.

A few weeks back, T-Mobile announced its satellite service with the branding T-Satellite for users across the US. Now it is expanding the ways of its satellite for more convenience by adding support for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

Noticeably, T-Mobile made this feature compatible with several Samsung Galaxy smartphones. The T-Satellite service is available in the US for every user, regardless of carrier. To use the service, all they have to do is purchase a $10 per month subscription.

In case you are a T-Mobile customer and have the Experience Beyond or older Go5G plans, you can take advantage of the service for free. T-Satellite service will automatically activate on your smartphone instantly whenever there is no regular network coverage, mainly in remote areas.

According to a report from PCMag, the MMS feature over satellite on a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE using the default Messages app is working seamlessly. However, it took at least two minutes for a photo to send successfully. Whereas a short video of 5 seconds took 20 minutes to send successfully.

Currently, the video-sending functionality through satellite still needs upgrades; it’s expected that over time, it will be more seamless.
