Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise Editions Will Follow the Same Software Update Roadmap as Flagships

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 Enterprise Edition launched a few days ago, and despite sharing the same core specs as the regular Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models, if you are confused about the software update policy of these devices, then here’s what Samsung officially announced.

The newly launched Enterprise Edition folding phones are designed well for business purposes and to offer much more enhanced security and management features as compared to the standard foldable devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise Edition are treated with an additional layer of security via Samsung’s most powerful Knox suite for resisting demanding environments, while also combining them with Galaxy AI-powered multitasking with the integration of Google Gemini Live, alongside featuring some robust elements like the Advanced Armor Aluminum Body with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection.

At the same time, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise models are specially optimized to run the latest Android 16-based One UI 8.

Meanwhile, a previous leak suggested that the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise Edition models will be receiving a huge eight years of software updates; however, Samsung has dismissed outright this eight-year policy and has officially stated that the newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise Edition models are committed for up to seven years of software updates, including up to seven generations of major OS updates and seven years of security patches, similar to the standard foldable phones.

Well, from the launch in July 2025, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Enterprise models tend to receive seven years of software support, which means they will get Android 23 as their last major OS update while receiving security patches till 2032.
