First Software Update Hits Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic on One UI 8 Watch

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 series, consisting of the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, which were introduced during the summer Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models, are getting a new software update for the first time ever.
The 8th generation Galaxy watches debuted with One UI 8 Watch, out of the box, which runs Google’s latest Wear OS 6 on top. At the same time, the latest update for the Galaxy Watch 8 series is currently available for both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth models in the home country, South Korea, and carries the version number AYG4.

Meanwhile, the latest update, however, doesn’t introduce any major features or changes; instead, it significantly integrates the new May 2025 security update in order to provide a more secure user experience while also keeping the wearables safe against sophisticated threats.
At the same time, the update further brings a host of key bug fixes and improvements that offer an efficient system behavior and performance.
Well, the latest Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic have, indeed, arrived with various interesting capabilities, but most prominently, the wearables come with One UI 8 Watch on board. Therefore, Samsung has integrated these Galaxy Watches (via the Samsung Health app) with some enhanced and upgraded features that focus on providing a well-maintained and healthier lifestyle to the users; these features include Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, Antioxidant Index, and Running Coach.
Well, the latest software update for the Galaxy Watch 8 series is currently rolling out in South Korea, and it’s expected that Samsung will expand the update to even more eligible regions in the near future.
