Galaxy S26 Edge Gets a Huge Performance Boost With Snapdragon Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is highly anticipated to replace the Plus variant from the Galaxy S26 series, and it has now been listed on Geekbench, revealing incredibly powerful performance.

Samsung is supposed to launch the Galaxy S26 series sometime between January and February next year. Reports already revealed that the series will include, as usual, three models, but this time with new branding, which are as follows:

Samsung will completely ditch the ‘Plus’ model from the Galaxy S26 series and replace it with the Galaxy S26 Edge.

Meanwhile, Galaxy S26 Edge appears on Geekbench’s database with the dedicated model number SM-S947U. The listing revealed that the device is powered by Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a motherboard called “canoe,” and integrated with 12GB of RAM. (Via – Abhishek Yadav)

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset includes an octa-core CPU with two prime cores capable of running at 4.74 GHz and six performance cores that can run at 3.63 GHz and has an Adreno 840 GPU. According to the listing, the device will run Android 16 out of the box. The single-core of the device scored 3393, whereas the multi-core scored 11515, making it more powerful than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. 

However, these are the early Geekbench listing scores, so it will be interesting to see whether these scores will remain constant or will change over development phases.
