Samsung has just opened the One UI 8 beta program for Galaxy S24 models in a few selective countries, which significantly brings some key bug fixes and performance improvements.
After making an announcement, Samsung has finally taken a significant step towards expanding the latest One UI 8 beta program to its last year’s renowned Galaxy S series models.
While the newest version is powered by Google’s Android 16 OS, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra owners get a perfect opportunity to test out and provide feedback regarding all the goodies included in the latest OS ahead of the official release, which is said to arrive somewhere in September 2025, first up for the S25 family, though.
At the same time, since the latest One UI 8 update runs in the beta channel, it’s more prone to various bugs and other inconsistencies; thus, it’s advised to back up all the necessary data on other devices and also never install the beta update on the primary phone. On the other hand, specifically, the newest One UI 8 Beta 1 update for Galaxy S24 series is all about several bug fixes and other necessary improvements for the overall system behavior and functionality.
This time, Samsung has significantly added various improvements to productivity, multitasking with Samsung DeX support, enhanced split-screen view, the newly added interface of the Reminder app, the enhanced Calendar app, Modes and routines, advancements to Samsung Health, enhanced communication, strengthened security and privacy, accessibility, and other relevant improvements. Easier file sharing with Quick Share
It’s now even easier to send and receive files. Tap the Quick Share button in quick settings to get started. You can receive files while the Quick Share screen is open and send files to others directly from Quick Share.Easily find downloaded files

Manage reminders in Calendar
You can easily create reminders in the Calendar app without opening the Reminder app. Whenever you tap the + button, you’ll have the choice of adding an event or a reminder. You can also drag and drop reminders on your calendar to reschedule them.Add events quickly

Well, Samsung’s One UI 8 runs Android 16 on top; therefore, alongside some major upgrades, the newest software further integrates the goodness of Android 16 as well. At the same time, One UI 8 brings more upgrades to the Galaxy AI suite, improved Audio Eraser, smarter Now Brief, improved Browsing Assist, and Generative Edit.
Beyond this, the update significantly adds a refreshed design and other UI changes, including the Reminder app, while also adding more changes to Quick Share and Call Captions.
