Samsung Galaxy Users Soon Get AI-Powered Conversational Editing in Google Photos

Samsung Galaxy users, get ready for the enhanced photo editing experience with the new AI editing feature in the Google Photos app, which will improve image quality.

Samsung already offers several editing tools, such as Generative Edit, Object Eraser, and more, to its Galaxy devices to enhance the user experience. Meanwhile, Google has now introduced a new AI editing feature in the Google Photos app with its newly launched Pixel 10 smartphones, which will roll out to other Android devices, including Samsung.

Google has redesigned the photo editor in its dedicated Google Photos app, which helps you get all editing suggestions and tools in one place, aiming to make editing quick and easy for anyone, regardless of users’ editing expertise. Now, while tapping or circling any specific parts of an image, the editor will show a bunch of suggestions, for instance, erasing a distraction. Google Photos now supports C2PA Content Credentials to offer details regarding every change that it has made while capturing and editing.

Now, to add an extra layer of convenience, the company is introducing conversational editing capabilities to the photo editor based on Gemini to let you make custom AI-powered edits. This new integration will prevent you from manually selecting tools or adjusting sliders, as you can now simply describe what upgrades you want the editor to make. For instance, you can ask for a specific edit, such as “remove the cars in the background,” or something more general like “restore this old photo.”

This new feature will enhance image quality and can also help with more creative edits, like changing the background of a photo. Currently, the feature is only available on the Google Pixel 10, but soon it will be expanded to Galaxy smartphones and more.
