Galaxy S26 could have Qi2 magnets at cost of reverse wireless charging

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature built-in Qi2 magnet charging support, which could force it to miss out on reverse wireless charging support, similar to the newly launched Google Pixel 10 series.
Google launched its latest Pixel 10 series that has full-fledged Qi2 support (with magnets), but unfortunately, this upgrade forced the company to sacrifice reverse wireless charging.This means that the Pixel 10 series has Qi2 support with a magnet at the cost of wireless reverse charging.
A report from Droidreader revealed that they have discovered the Google Pixel 10 models are not compatible with reverse wireless charging. Once the publication acknowledged this lack, it immediately questioned Google regarding this and got a surprising answer in return.
An official stated, “The Pixel 10 series features Qi2 magnetic wireless charging for more efficient and reliable wireless charging (…) The array of magnets creates a strong connection with the charger but presents a physical limitation for reverse wireless charging. While this means Battery Share is not currently available on the Pixel 10, we are constantly exploring future innovations to improve the Pixel experience.”
The statement said that while furnishing the Pixel 10 series with Qi2 and magnets, the brand either didn’t have space to place components for reverse wireless charging or that the magnets obstructed the reverse wireless charging. This raises a concern among Galaxy fans for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
Coming to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, which is already rumored to feature Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. But now it seems that it could also run into a similar problem as the Pixel 10 series. This means it’s possible that the Galaxy S26 series could either have Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support or reverse wireless charging support.
Since there’s no official statement regarding this report yet, it remains to be seen exactly how Samsung will deal with this problem.
