Samsung is celebrating a major production milestone in Vietnam by producing over 2 billion smartphones since operations began in April 2009.
Transparently, Samsung is one of the leading brands in the smartphone market, and it has manufacturing facilities across the globe, among which Vietnam is where its phones are made primarily, from where they are exported to markets as far as North America.
Vietnam is a crucial manufacturing hub not only for the Korean conglomerate but also for the many companies that operate under it. Meanwhile, a report from a reliable blog, ETNews, revealed that after a long journey of 16 years, the Korean firm ‘Samsung’ finally reached a milestone of 2 billion Galaxy smartphones in Vietnam.
The report says, initially, the firm started the operation in April 2009, and since then, the manufacturing base has started to expand rapidly with various production units across Vietnam. Samsung used to manufacture its Galaxy phones primarily at its Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen factories in Vietnam. The company has generated $31.8 billion in revenue during the first half of the year, including $28 billion earned from exports, which points out the fateful role of Vietnam in Samsung being able to meet the global demand for its products.
Regarding this achievement, Samsung mobile division boss TM Roh went over to meet with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Roh also manifests the company’s willingness to further expand its investments in the country, along with other Samsung group firms, doubling down on their reliance on Vietnam as a crucial manufacturing hub.
