One UI 8 Beta Causes Strange Lock Screen Clock and Widget Overlapping Issues on Galaxy S25

Samsung’s One UI 8 progress looks impressive, and currently the company has started expanding the beta build for more eligible Galaxy devices. Since the Galaxy S25 models have received the sixth beta version, however, users have started getting some issues regarding their lock screen clock and widget placement.

Basically, the Galaxy S25 series has been testing the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program since May 2025, and so far, Samsung has released a total of six beta builds for its current flagships, sequentially.

Weird One UI 8 Beta Issue Disrupts Galaxy S25 Lock Screen Clock and Widget Display

However, a few Galaxy S25 users took it to Samsung’s community page and reported that they have started facing a weird lock screen issue within the latest One UI 8 version, where the clock placement automatically shifts to the bottom of the screen, which apparently fades the widgets. Also, the clock first comes at the center, then shifts straight to the bottom of the screen.

This issue is also affecting my Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is currently running the latest One UI 8 beta. After updating, I’ve noticed frequent problems with the lock screen clock and widgets overlapping one another, making the display cluttered and sometimes difficult to use. Sometimes, the clock widget appears on the bottom of the lock screen and overlaps the Now Bar and Fingerprint icon.

Not just this, users are also getting a weird bug where the widgets on the lock screen are misaligned from their actual position. Basically, the clock widget is overlapping with other widgets placed on the lock screen. This occurs when applying wallpaper, and as a result the widgets get misaligned, overlapping each other.

Currently, the above-mentioned issue has been spotted within the current (One UI 8 beta 6 and Beta 5 for India and Poland) running on the Galaxy S25 series.

However, Samsung is yet to acknowledge the lock screen clock and widget issue; hopefully, the company fixes this issue as soon as possible. Well, the Galaxy S25 series has already received six One UI 8 beta builds; it’s expected that the next update could be a stable version, as Samsung has scheduled the stable update for this month, and thus, the official update could arrive anytime soon.
