Samsung is now rumored to have a new supplier, MCNEX, for the periscope camera, which will be featured in the upcoming high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The company is working on its next-generation Galaxy S26 series, which will include at least three models: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, a new report from ETNews revealed that MCNEX has been added to the supplier list for the periscope camera module for the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. This new move will expand the Periscope camera supply chain, where MCNEX will now work alongside existing suppliers, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Sunny Optical.
According to the report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 50MP periscope camera with 5X optical zoom support, which was first introduced on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Previously, this component was undertaken by Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Sunny Optical; now, MCNEX is reported to replace Sunny Optical in a few categories to diversify the supply.
One of the reasons behind this change is that Sunny Optical has had quality issues in the production of periscope cameras over the past two years. Apart from this, the device is also reported to be equipped with a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, manufactured by Powerlogics, which was previously handled by MCNEX and Partron.
A few Galaxy S26 Ultra reports revealed that it will bring a newly curvier design S Pen, arrive with a built-in privacy screen, feature the latest M14 OLED material, and more.
