Samsung is finally making it more convenient to port eSIM from iPhone to Galaxy device

eSIMs have been here for quite some time now, and smartphone owners use their two Android phones or two iPhones to move their phone numbers; however, moving eSIM from iOS to Android is not that easy. Meanwhile, Samsung seems to be making it more convenient to transfer eSIM from an iPhone to Galaxy phones, thanks to One UI 8.5!
Basically, until now, transferring the phone number from an iPhone to Samsung phones using an eSIM requires contacting the network carrier, but this appears to be changing soon, as the latest report suggests that Samsung is already working on making this process quicker and easier, ahead of the Galaxy S26 series’ launch.
According to Android Authority, when diving deeper into the latest leaked One UI 8.5 build, it was found that Samsung’s upcoming update is supposed to include an option that will allow users to port an eSIM’s phone number from an iPhone to the Galaxy device without contacting the dedicated mobile carrier.

At the same time, in One UI 8.0, while setting up a new smartphone, Samsung provides an option to transfer an eSIM from another device, while on the other hand, in One UI 8.5, it looks like Samsung is splitting the same option into two different buttons that will perhaps provide users the ability to transfer an eSIM from Android or iOS.
Well, Samsung’s distinctive move could inspire more Android partners in order to bring the ability across different smartphone brands.
Nevertheless, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is still to arrive officially; simultaneously, the company appears to be preparing to release the first One UI 8.5 beta program, beginning next month. Also, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will be keeping the transferring of eSIM for the beta phase or getting prepared to roll it out with the stable version.
