Samsung shared the Galaxy XR headset’s safety & usage guidelines for a better experience

Samsung is all set to launch its awaited Galaxy XR Headset next week, on October 21; meanwhile, the company has now shared a few safety and usage guidelines for the headset.

For so long, the Korean tech giant has been teasing its upcoming Galaxy XR headset on several major occasions, such as Galaxy events. Previously, it was announced that the company would launch the headset by the end of this year, but the exact launch date hasn’t been revealed. However, earlier this week, Samsung confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy XR will be launched on October 21.

Now, before the impending launch, Samsung shared crucial safety and usage guidelines for the headset, revealing key insights about its design. According to the guidelines, the company has set the minimum age for using its XR headset at 13, citing eye protection and physical suitability.

It also cautioned users regarding flashing lights, seizures, dizziness, and other symptoms. The headset contains magnets and a few electromagnetic components, which potentially interfere with pacemakers, hearing aids, or defibrillators.

The company also points out that glasses or hard contact lenses may interfere with the headset experience, recommending soft lenses instead. For adjusting vision, lens kits will be provided by the company, but with a limited range. Noticeably, all of these precautions and guidance seem similar to Apple’s Vision Pro documentation.
