Samsung is gearing up for the next-generation Galaxy S26 series to launch in early 2026, which is now reported not to include the Edge variant.
For so long, the Korean tech giant has been actively working on the Galaxy S26 series, initially, which was supposed to include only three variants: the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to the initial report, it was almost confirmed that Samsung is all set to replace the Galaxy S26 Plus with the Edge model. Meanwhile, a few days back, it was revealed that under the hood, the company also started working on the Galaxy S26 Plus variant, which hinted that the series will include four variants. Against all the old rumors, a new report suggests that the Galaxy S26 lineup will not include the Edge variant.
Now, a new report from Newspim (via) revealed that Samsung decided to discontinue its ultra-slim Galaxy Edge phone, and the reason behind is “It’s not selling well.” This suggests that the company is not bringing the Galaxy S26 Edge, and the key reason behind this is the lower sales rate of the current Galaxy S25 Edge. According to the report, it halts the development of the device.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge; however, the market response was underwhelming. Reportedly, the company sold 190,000 units of the Edge variant in the first month after launch, whereas during the same period, the Galaxy S25 sold 1.17 million, the Galaxy S26 Plus sold 840,000, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra sales reached 2.55 million, revealing a stark contrast.
However, Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding this report; it will be interesting to see whether the report will come true.
