Samsung officially launched the Galaxy XR: Here are the full specs & price

Finally, at the virtual launch event, Samsung launched its first XR headset, officially named Galaxy XR, based on the Android XR operating system.
After a long tease, the Korean tech giant has officially introduced the Galaxy XR, which is the world’s first device running the Android XR operating system. It is integrated with one of the most advanced multimodal AI assistants, Gemini.
The Galaxy XR features a metal faceplate on the front and is covered by a curved glass panel that wraps multiple cameras and sensors. It rests on the user’s forehead and cheekbones, and its head strap helps keep the device securely attached to the head.

Samsung powered the headset with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, integrated with 16GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It features two 4.3K resolution Micro-OLED displays with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, a 109-degree horizontal field of view, and a 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage, which offer full-color passthrough and let you see your surroundings clearly. The display also supports HDR10 and HLG video playback.
It supports an interpupillary distance of 54 to 70mm, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Lossless audio playback, Wi-Fi7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Samsung offered six microphones for voice commands, six world-facing cameras, a depth-sensing camera on the front, and four eye-tracing cameras to recognize the iris.
Samsung priced the Galaxy XR at $1,799 in the USA. Currently, the headset is available in the US and Korea; it remains to be seen whether the company will expand the availability.
