Samsung is looking forward to launching the Galaxy S26 series next year, which is anticipated to bring a massive telephoto camera upgrade.
Initially, it was almost confirmed that Samsung would launch the Galaxy S26 series in early Q1 2026; however, it is not the case anymore, since the most recent reports claimed that the company could delay the launch till March 2026.
Recently, during the Q3 2025 earnings call, Samsung announced that the Galaxy S26 series will bring more advanced AI features, a new custom chip, and a notable camera and stated, “revolutionize the user experience with user-centric, next-gen AI, a second-generation custom AP, and stronger performance, including new camera sensors.”
Meanwhile, a new report revealed that Samsung may offer a new 1/2.55-inch, 12-megapixel Telephoto camera to the Galaxy S26 series, which will replace the conventional solution, i.e., 1/3.52-inch in size and features 10-megapixel resolution.
According to the report, the company is also considering bringing a “bigger” telephoto sensor to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to match the ultrawide and periscope modules with 50MP resolution.
Noticeably, these camera specifications are not revealed by any authentic source; it remains to be seen whether these will come into existence.
