Samsung May choose ‘Standard’ or ‘Pro’ Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Chip for Galaxy S27

Samsung could have more options to power the Galaxy S27 models, as Qualcomm is gearing up to introduce the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 2nm process in two versions.

A reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, revealed that Qualcomm is looking forward to bringing its next flagship mobile chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, in two variants, as mentioned below –

  • Standard
  • Pro

The company will use the most advanced 2nm TSMC N2P process and will share the same third-generation CPU architecture for both of these variants, but each variant will have differences in performance.

According to the report, the Pro version of the chip will be equipped with a more powerful GPU and support LPDDR6 memory, which will be more efficient in delivering superior graphics processing and multitasking capabilities compared to the standard version. Reportedly, Qualcomm will use a 2+3+3 CPU structure for the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, tuned to optimize performance on each processing core.

Coming to Samsung, it usually relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon lineup to power its latest Galaxy S series smartphones; for instance, this year Galaxy S25 series equipped the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the Galaxy S26 series is highly anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. If the ritual continues, then Samsung will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 for the Galaxy S27 series, for which it has two options: Standard and Pro.

Previously, it has already been reported that Samsung will use a Snapdragon chip based on TSMC’s 2nm process for Galaxy S27 Ultra.
